Hi Everyone, I’m not one for being so wordy with my artwork. When I write on a computer I tend to write very quickly, with so much frenetic energy. These days with art, things happen so fast, events come and go and all need to be documented, so I thought it would be better for me to have a blog website because its so much easier to update, more like a journal than a regular website.
Well, here it is, basil el halwagy | creative projects. I make wearable art, drawings, and ceramics. I love these three media and always have. But making wearable art is kind of new for me, meaning that I’ve only been doing it for 6 years or so.
Ceramics and drawing are two media I have been working in since I was a child. I’m not a guru of technical anything, I’m not interested in understanding different clay bodies or mixing my own glazes. I do feel I’ve developed an understanding of material on an intuitive level. I feel my work demonstrate that, because to me, getting in touch is what art is about.
